Understanding your smile
The conversation comes first: what you would like to change, and what you want to keep. The examination then places that request in the context of the whole mouth: the teeth, the gums and the way the teeth meet. Depending on the situation, a further examination may be needed before reaching a conclusion.
Photographs and, where useful, a digital impression complete this first aesthetic assessment.

They document the face, the smile, the proportions, the shade and the details of the teeth.

It provides a digital model of the dental arches, used to analyse the situation and to prepare the plan.

Visualising your smile plan
The photographs, the digital impression and the findings of the assessment are used to prepare your aesthetic plan, which is designed after the consultation.
The smile design is its visible form: a proposal for the shapes and proportions of the teeth, drawn with a tool such as Smilecloud, which we look at and then discuss together.

A plan discussed with you
The proposal is presented to you, then adjusted to your expectations and to what the clinical situation allows. Where it is indicated, a trial in the mouth complements the digital simulation: the plan is placed temporarily on your teeth, without altering them.
A simulation shows an intention, not a guaranteed outcome. What can actually be achieved depends on the starting situation, on the tissue available and on how each tooth responds.
You leave knowing the possible options, their limits and how much intervention each involves, any additional steps and the proposed next stage. A detailed written quote is given to you before any treatment, and you have the time you need to think it over.
A consultation may also conclude that no treatment is indicated.

Four short questions
Do I need to know which treatment to ask for?
No. You come with a concern or a question. The examination is what shows which options exist, and whether any treatment is indicated.
Is the digital plan shown at the first appointment?
No. The photographs and the digital impression are part of the assessment. The plan is designed afterwards, then presented and discussed with you at a dedicated appointment.
Does the consultation commit me to starting treatment?
No. It may conclude that no treatment is indicated, or that a limited correction is enough. You decide afterwards, with a detailed written quote and time to think it over.
Can the consultation be held in English?
Yes. Dr Haccoun consults in English, and the written quote can be provided in English.
